A serrated cutting edge has a serrated or toothed edge. One or both sides of the blade can have the serrations applied to them. They can be coarse or fine, and their numbers can vary. The most well-known serration design is the wave, yet there are different examples.
The motivation behind the serrations is to give a more fantastic slicing surface and to make the sharp edge more viable at slicing through extreme or sinewy material.
